Bogani was born in Florence.

As a child he draws dinosaurs dreaming of being a paleontologist, then he opts for pilot of giant robots and, later, of spaceships capable of making the route of Kessel in less than 12 parsecs; finally he enrolled at the International School of Comics in Florence where he graduated with full marks in 1997. 

He has worked for Giunti, Loescher, Usborne Publishing, Star Comics (Lazarus Ledd and Jonathan Steele), Piemme, Zenescope, GDBM Vanadis.
