BARBARA ASTEGIANO

barbara astegiano

She has been drawing for as long as she can remember, but it is in a cold February of 1998, when she reads Ranma 1/2 for the first time, that Barbara realizes that the comic is her way.

Astegiano approaches this artistic world working on covers and illustrations for books, participating in collectives such as The Nerd’s Family, Granadilla, Potpourri Comics, Collettivo Lamia, Unip0rni and also collaborates with Capitani Italiani.

When she started working as an assistant and colorist assistant she also took her first steps with more famous publishers.

Barbara Astegiano made her overseas debut for Severin Films with an homage to the horror movie The Theater Bizarre, adapted by Andrea Cavaletto and Francesco Massaccesi and with some pages on the pandemic for a collection on Ivy Editore’s quarantines.

She is currently working on a volume for a local publishing house but she hopes to return to the splatter field soon.
